Jay Electronic maakte eregister als voor programma van Mos Def zijn eerste echte New York debut. Hoewel hij nog vrij onbekend is heeft ie binnen de scene al veel stof doen oplaaien. Erykah Badu tekende hem bij haar Control Freaq label Just Blaze staat te springen om zijn vaste DJ te zijn en Nas vindt hem zo dope dat Jay op Nas' nieuwe album 'Nigger' mag produceren en rappen.
